I am writing this from the living room of the house that my grandparents built for themselves over 50 years ago.  I am writing this from the living room of the house that my husband and I have been working for over a week to clean out, strip down, reorganize, and fill with our own items.  It has been a surreal experience so far.  Seeing each recovered room with the carpet torn out is helping - I was not around before these beautiful hardwood floors were covered in the mid-70s, so seeing the floors this way makes it seem like a whole new room to me. I have never doubted my connection with my fiance - tomorrow, my husband.  He has always seemed a natural extension of myself, a true partner, my support and my best friend.  And, as family should, his family have always treated me like I was one of them, like I *belonged*, which is no small thing.  I'm a lucky girl - far luckier than I deserve, probably - but I never let a day pass without taking a moment to be in awe of the goodness that has finally come into my world.  I have lived a dark life, a painful life at times, and to finally have things coming together for me...  To have the world seem to right itself...  Well, it's pretty overwhe

I'm moving home.  That doesn't sound like much, really, does it?  I'm not moving in with my parents or anything like that...  No, I'm moving back to the place where it all began.  My grandparents' house has been empty for four years, untended, and I intend to begin a new life there.  I can't wait for my kids to grow up in the place where all my happiest childhood memories were made.  It's going to be hard, cleaning and renovating an old house, but the fiance and I are up for it.
